Cover Design, Concept, Handmade 3D Typography
Maya Lin has always been one of my favorite artists as she consistently reimagines the fields of art and architecture, often blurring the line between the two. Rizzoli published "Topologies," a wonderful book of her work back in 1998. Here is a reimagining of the cover using a typographic approach rather than photographic. I made her name out of layers of paper cuttings to show the height and depth of her topographic work and then used the work I referenced as the end papers.
The paper type using just an x-acto, glue, and patience.
